6 Operation
Chapter 6
Operation
The following is only for operating mode "Rabbit II": the driving pedal (5) must be
released completely for switching to drive in the reverse direction. Wait until the machine
is standing completely still (0.0 km/h). Only then may the "foot switch for driving
direction" be pressed and held in this position. As soon as the driving pedal is pressed,
the machine will drive in reverse.
In operating mode "Rabbit I", the driving direction may be changed at slower driving
speeds.
A warning signal always sounds when driving backward, thus drawing the attention
of other people to the backward movement. Simultaneously, both backup lamps are
automatically switched on.
Note! Risk of damage to the machine. When driving in reverse, always make sure that
the counterweight is raised high enough that neither the counterweight nor the underrun
protective device contact the ground/road surface. This danger exists when sharply
rising terrain is located to the rear of the machine.
The following only applies to machines equipped with the underrun protective
device:
Attention! Danger of severe personal injury. If the counterweight is raised to enable
driving in reverse, then swing the underrun protective device upward. By doing so, the
rear turn indicators and lighting fixtures are covered. As soon as possible, lower the
counterweight completely and use the rear view camera to make sure that the underrun
protective device is completely swung down.
