– Unscrew the filter bowl (2). Catch the fluid in a suitable container and clean it or
dispose of in an environmentally-friendly manner.
– Pull the filter element from the element holding pin. After detaching the filter element,
check whether there is an end cap made of metal on the upper end. If this is not
the case, detach the end cap separately from the element holding pin. Inspect the
element surface for dirt residue and large particles. These may indicate damage to
the components.
– Exchange the filter element
– Clean the bowl
– Inspect the filter for mechanical damage; check sealing surfaces and threads in
particular.
– Exchange the O-ring on the filter head. Dirt or incomplete pressure relief during
dismantling may lead to the bowl screw-in thread seizing up.
Fitting the element
– Wet thread, sealing faces on the filter bowl and filter head in addition to O-ring on
the bowl and element, if necessary with clean hydraulic fluid.
– Fit a new element (ROPA Item No. 270430).
– Carefully fit the filter element onto the element holding pin.
– Screw in the filter bowl as far as it will go.
– Unscrew the filter bowl one sixth of a turn.
– Start the engine and lift the pile pickup upwards against the stop. (Inspect the filter
for leaks).
Note! Dispose of hydraulic fluid, filter elements and cleaning rags etc. in compliance with
the locally applicable environment protection regulations!
If AdBlue ® /DEF comes into contact with painted surfaces or aluminum surfaces, rinse off
the surfaces affected immediately and copiously with water.
