7.6.2 Differential gear on front and rear axle<br />

Replacement of the oil is required after the first 50 operating hours, then annually.<br />

Attention! Risk of injury. Immobilize euro-Maus4 before the oil change and shut off<br />

the engine. The machine must be secured against inadvertent starting of the engine. All<br />

maintenance and repair work may only be performed by trained specialist personnel.<br />

Differential gear units (1) on both axles:<br />

Proceed as follows for the oil change:<br />

– Change the oil only with the gear units at operating temperature.<br />

– Place a catch pan of sufficient size underneath.<br />

– Unscrew the oil drain plug (3) of the differential gear (1). It is located at the bottom,<br />

at the lowest position on the axle body.<br />

– Open the oil level inspection plug (2) and wait until the oil has completely drained.<br />

– Screw in the oil drain plug (3) again.<br />

– Add oil to the oil filler opening (2) until the oil level reaches the lower edge of the oil<br />

filler opening (2).<br />

– Screw the oil level inspection plug back in again.<br />

Prescribed gear oil: Gear oil API GL 5, SAE 90<br />

Filling capacities: Differential gear of the front axle approx. 22 liters<br />

Differential gear of the rear axle approx. 20 liters<br />

oil level inspection plug<br />
