7 Maintenance and Care
Regularly check the hoses of the hydraulic system for aging and damage! Immediately
exchange damaged or aged hoses. Only use hoses corresponding to the technical
specifications of the original hose as replacements! For reasons of cost, we recommend
that you order replacement hoses directly from ROPA since original ROPA hydraulic
hoses are generally offered far more economically than competing products.
Note that a soiled cooler will achieve a clearly reduced cooling performance. This
substantially reduces the loading capacity of the machine. If the hydraulic fluid is heated
up too much, shut off the engine and try to determine the cause. Usually, the hydraulic
fluid cooler (1) is soiled; possibly, the heating system for the hydraulic fluid tank has not
been shut off.
Warning! Risk of burns! Every radiator is heated during operation. Wear protective
gloves! Before all work on the cooling systems, let the machine cool down sufficiently!
7.3.1 Hydraulic fluid tank
The tank for hydraulic fluid is located on the cab platform behind the handrail. In addition
to the display on the color terminal, the oil level and oil temperature can be read off at
the sight glass (3) on the front side of the hydraulic fluid tank. The hydraulic fluid level
should always be in the area between the center of the sight glass and the upper edge
of the sight glass. Always ensure that the fluid level in the hydraulic fluid tank is correct.
During all work on the hydraulic system, ensure the utmost cleanliness!
Note that different grades of hydraulic fluid may not be mixed.
When using a vacuum pump, do not set a partial vacuum of more than 0.2 bar since this
may otherwise cause damage to the hydraulic fluid tank.
