7 Maintenance and Care Chapter 7 Maintenance and Care 7.6.2 Differential gear on front and rear axle Replacement of the oil is required after the first 50 operating hours, then annually. Attention! Risk of injury. Immobilize euro-Maus4 before the oil change and shut off the engine. The machine must be secured against inadvertent starting of the engine. All maintenance and repair work may only be performed by trained specialist personnel. Differential gear units (1) on both axles: Proceed as follows for the oil change: – Change the oil only with the gear units at operating temperature. – Place a catch pan of sufficient size underneath. – Unscrew the oil drain plug (3) of the differential gear (1). It is located at the bottom, at the lowest position on the axle body. – Open the oil level inspection plug (2) and wait until the oil has completely drained. off – Screw in the oil drain plug (3) again. – Add oil to the oil filler opening (2) until the oil level reaches the lower edge of the oil filler opening (2). – Screw the oil level inspection plug back in again. 7.7 Pneumatic system 289 7 Maintenance and Care (1) Air dryer cartridge Maintenance work on the pneumatic system is only required on the air dryer and the compressed air reservoirs. The compressor is maintenance-free. The air dryer and the five compressed air reservoirs are located under the right lateral hatch. The dryer cartridge (1) of the air dryer must be replaced annually. Note! Use ONLY original spare parts (Ropa Item No. 261081) for the air dryer since the AdBlue ® dosing unit is damaged by compressed air containing oil.
