7 Maintenance and Care
Chapter 7
Maintenance and Care
7.1.4 Cooling system
The cooling system is to be regularly checked for cleanliness and, if required, cleaned.
If the admissible maximum temperature of the coolant or the hydraulic fluid is repeatedly
exceeded at very high outdoor temperatures, the complete cooling system must be
checked for clean condition and, if necessary, cleaned immediately.
7.1.4.1 Reversing the fan drive
Ensure that the air intake grille is free of dirt and adhering foliage etc.
In order to clean the intake grille of loose dirt, the fan drive for the cooling system is
reversed automatically each time the engine is started. Thus, the fan largely blows the
intake grille free.
7.1.4.2 Cleaning the cooling system
The cooling system is located above the diesel engine. After swinging down the rear
platform wall, the cooling system is easily accessible from the boarding platform. Always
shut off the engine for cleaning work on the air intake grilles or the radiators / coolers
and secure it against inadvertent starting (withdraw the ignition key and carry it on your
body).
Warning! Risk of burns! Every radiator is heated during operation. Wear protective
gloves! Before all work on the cooling systems, let the machine cool down sufficiently!
