6.10.2 Constant throttle brake
The mechanical operating brake is required only in exceptional cases. Normally, braking
by hydrostatic drive is sufficient. The diesel engine is fitted with a wear-free constant
throttle brake. This brake automatically activates itself when releasing the driving
pedal or when driving downhill on steep slopes – when the set engine speed is greatly
exceeded – and increases the braking effect of the hydrostatic drive.
The color orange in the display zone (1) for the diesel engine indicates that the constant
throttle brake is active.
6.10.3 Parking brake
Operation of the parking brake is performed using the toggle switch (17) on the console.
The parking brake only takes effect on the front wheels. Even if the ignition is switched
off and the pneumatics system is pressureless, the parking brake is automatically
engaged and takes effect.

For safety reasons, the parking brake is only released if there is sufficient pressure in the
pneumatics system. If the release pressure of the parking brake is too low, then the color
terminal displays the following warning icon .
If the parking brake is engaged, then the color terminal displays the following icon .
As long as the parking brake is engaged, pressure on the driving pedal is without effect.
6.10.4 Automatic parking brake (only in operating mode Rabbit)
When the machine is standing still (driving pedal released for several seconds), then
the parking brake is automatically engaged. As soon as the automatic parking brake is
active, the color terminal displays the following icon: .
This avoids inadvertent rolling away of the machine, especially on sloped ground.
If the driving pedal is pressed again, then the automatic parking brake is released.
