Maintenance and Care
7.15 Truck conveyor – maintenance
7.15.1 Truck conveyor belt tightening
The truck conveyor belt must be retightened if needed. The conveyor belt tension is
correctly set if the lower side of the conveyor which returns empty sags approx. 2-3 cm
between the bearing rollers (with the truck conveyor fully lowered and the truck conveyor
articulated section fully extended (truck conveyor almost continuously straight)).
Truck conveyor belt correctly tightened
Proceed as follows for retightening the truck conveyor belt:
– Slacken the fastening bolts(1) on the deflecting rollers at the left/right.
– Tighten the nuts (2) on the tightening bars (3) left/right until the deflecting rollers left/
right are slid back adequately.
– Lock the nuts (2) on the tensioning bar (3) left/right.
– Firmly retighten the fastening bolts (1) of the deflecting rollers left/right.
– It is essential that you ensure that both sides of the conveyor are retightened to an
equal extent so that the conveyor does not knock against one side and is damaged.
If the truck conveyor belt is skewed, you can compensate for this by adjusting the
tensioning nut (4) on the diagonal strut (5) in the truck conveyor infeed slot.
