7 Maintenance and Care Chapter 7 Maintenance and Care 7.4 Mechanical drive of the two steering axles 7.4.1 Drive shafts from the distributor gearbox to the steering axles Both articulated shafts of euro-Maus4 must be lubricated after every 200 operating hours. Danger! Risk of lethal injury due to rotating machine parts. When the engine is running, body parts or items of clothing may be caught by rotating articulated shafts and pulled into the machine. Before lubricating, immobilize euro-Maus4 and shut off the engine. The machine must be secured against inadvertent starting of the engine. Example illustration: A lubricating nipple 284
7.4.2 Maintenance, universal joints in the axles 285 7 Maintenance and Care The universal joints of the double-joint shafts in the axle arms of the two steered axles must be lubricated every 200 operating hours. Each universal joint has two lubricating nipples. Both lubricating nipples must be lubricated. 7.5 <strong>Manual</strong> transmission The manual transmission is used for switching the operating modes "Turtle" and "Rabbit" as well as speeds I and II and all-wheel drive. The complete transmission consists of two units connected by a narrow duct and therefore having a joint oil circuit. For the oil change, the machine must be standing completely level.
