Chapter 7
Maintenance and Care
7.1.3.1 Fine fuel filter on the engine
The fine fuel filter at the engine must be replaced after the first 400 operating hours,
thereafter at least annually.
When the warning icon is displayed on the colour terminal, the fuel fine filter must
also be replaced.
2
Proceed as follows to change the fine fuel filter (1):
– Shut off the engine.
– Open the engine housing.
– Open the clamp closure (3) of the storage compartment on the engine housing and
swivel the storage compartment back and away.
3
– Shut off the fuel connection to the intermediate tank. In order to do this, swivel
around the longer (upper) servicing lever (4) on the valve manifold , fuel supply (5),
through 45° upwards to SERVICING position. This means that no more fuel is able
to flow from the intermediate tank to the engine.
– Place a fuel-resistant vessel of sufficient size under the filter bowl to catch escaping
fuel.
– Swivel the lever of the 3-way cock (2) upwards (this allows the contents of the filter
bowl to drain off into the vessel beneath).
– Unscrew the screw cover of the fine fuel filter (1) with a ratchet and a wrench socket
(width across flats36 mm).
