Outcome 6 Understand how to maintain security and confidentiality in a

1. The candidate will need to be aware of the types of information that are sensitive in terms of
• individuals, whether customers or employees
• the organisation
and the requirements of the Data Protection Act.
They should be able to explain the implications of what may happen if sensitive information is
disclosed.
2. The candidate should be able to describe practical procedures to take to keep confidential
information secure both paper-based and electronic.
