LIGHT SIGNALSUse ATC light signals from TBL 3−2−1 to controlaircraft and the movement of vehicles, equipment,and personnel on the movement area when radiocommunications cannot be employed.REFERENCE−FAAO 7110.65, Altitude Restricted Low Approach, Para 3−10−10.FAAO 7210.3,, Letters of Agreement, Para 4−3−1.3−2−2. WARNING SIGNALDirect a general warning signal, alternating red andgreen, to aircraft or vehicle operators, as appropriate,when:NOTE−The warning signal is not a prohibitive signal and can befollowed by any other light signal, as circumstancespermit.a. <strong>Air</strong>craft are converging and a collision hazardexists.b. Mechanical trouble exists of which the pilotmight not be aware.c. Other hazardous conditions are present whichcall for intensified pilot or operator alertness. Theseconditions may include obstructions, soft field, ice onthe runway, etc.3−2−3. RECEIVER-ONLY ACKNOWLEDGMENTTo obtain acknowledgment from an aircraft equipped<strong>with</strong> receiver only, request the aircraft to do thefollowing:a. Fixed-wing aircraft:1. Between sunrise and sunset:(a) Move ailerons or rudders while on theground.(b) Rock wings while in flight.2. Between sunset and sunrise: Flash navigationor landing lights.b. Helicopters:1. Between sunrise and sunset:(a) While hovering, either turn the helicoptertoward the controlling facility and flash the landinglight or rock the tip path plane.(b) While in flight, either flash the landinglight or rock the tip path plane.2.
