SEPARATION MINIMASeparate a departing aircraft from an arriving aircraftmaking an instrument approach to the same airport byusing one of the following minima until vertical orlateral separation is achieved:a. TERMINAL. When takeoff direction differs byat least 45 degrees from the reciprocal of the finalapproach course, the departing aircraft takes offbefore the arriving aircraft leaves a fix inbound notless than 4 miles from the airport.b. TERMINAL. When takeoff direction is otherthan in subpara a, the departing aircraft takes off sothat it is established on a course diverging by at least45 degrees from the reciprocal of the final approachcourse before the arriving aircraft leaves a fixinbound not less than 4 miles from the airport.c. TERMINAL. When the absence of an appropriatefix precludes the application of subparas a or b andat airports where approach control service is notprovided, the separation in subparas d or e shall beapplied.d.
