TEMPORARY STATIONARY AIRSPACERESERVATIONSSeparate aircraft from a temporary stationaryreservation by one of two methods:a. Laterally: Clear aircraft so that the protectedairspace along the route of flight does not overlap thegeographical area of the stationary reservation.(See FIG 8−6−1.)FIG 8−6−2Temporary Stationary Airspace ReservationsVertical SeparationFIG 8−6−1Temporary Stationary Airspace ReservationsLateral Separation8−6−2. REFUSAL OF AVOIDANCE CLEARANCEIf a pilot refuses to accept a clearance to avoid areservation, inform him/her of the potential hazard, advise him/her that services will not be providedwhile the flight is within the reservation and, ifpossible, inform the appropriate using agency.b. Vertically: Clear aircraft so that verticalseparation exists while the aircraft is within ageographical area defined as the stationary reservationplus a buffer around the perimeter equivalent toone-half the lateral separation minimum.(See FIG 8−6−2.)8−6−3. TEMPORARY MOVING AIRSPACERESERVATIONSSeparate aircraft from a temporary moving airspacereservation by one of the following methods:a. Laterally: Clear aircraft so that the protectedairspace along the route of flight does not overlap the(time-dependent) geographical area of the movingairspace reservation.b. Longitudinally: Clear aircraft so that theappropriate longitudinal minimum exists ahead of thefirst or behind the last aircraft operating within thereservation.c. Vertically: Clear aircraft so that verticalseparation exists while the aircraft is within a(time-dependent) geographical area defined as themoving airspace reservation plus a buffer around theperimeter equivalent to one-half the lateral separationminimum.Separation from Airspace Reservations8−6−1
