It is used to prevent aircraftfrom overrunning runways when the aircraft cannotbe stopped after landing or during aborted takeoff.Arresting systems have various names; e.g., arrestinggear, hook device, wire barrier cable.(See ABORT.)(Refer to AIM.)ARRIVAL AIRCRAFT INTERVAL− An internallygenerated program in hundredths of minutes basedupon the AAR.
