7110.65P 2/19/048−4−4. TRACK SEPARATIONApply track separation between aircraft by requiringaircraft to fly specified tracks or radials and withspecified spacings as follows:a. Same NAVAID:1. VOR/VORTAC/TACAN. Consider separationto exist between aircraft established on radials ofthe same NAVAID that diverge by at least 15 degreeswhen either aircraft is clear of the airspace to beprotected for the other aircraft. Use TBL 8−4−1 todetermine the flight distance required for variousdivergence angles and altitudes to clear the airspaceto be protected. NDB:(a) Consider separation to exist betweenaircraft established on tracks of the same NAVAIDthat diverge by at least 30 degrees and one aircraft isat least 15 miles from the NAVAID. This separationshall not be used when one or both aircraft areinbound to the aid unless the distance of the aircraftfrom the facility can be readily determined byreference to the NAVAID. Use TBL 8−4−2 todetermine the flight distance required for variousdivergence angles to clear the airspace to beprotected. For divergence that falls between twovalues, use the lesser value to obtain the distance.(See FIG 8−4−11.)TBL 8−4−2Divergence-Distance Minima (NDB)Divergence (degrees)Distance (mile)FL 230 andbelowFL 240throughFL 45030 16 1745 13 1460 9 1075 7 890 6 7Note: This table compensates for DME slant rangeerror.FIG 8−4−11Track Separation NDB8−4−4Lateral Separation
