INFORMATION RELAYWhen you receive information concerning a groundmissile emergency, notify other concerned facilitiesand take action to have alerting advisories issued by:a. EN ROUTE. Air carrier company radio stationsfor each VFR company aircraft which is or willbe operating in the vicinity of the emergency.b. EN ROUTE. FSSs adjacent to the emergencylocation.c. TERMINAL. Relay all information concerninga ground missile emergency to the ARTCC withinwhose area the emergency exists and disseminate asa NOTAM.REFERENCE−P/CG Term− Notice to Airmen.10−7−2. IFR AND SVFR MINIMAReroute IFR and SVFR aircraft as necessary to avoidthe emergency location by one of the followingminima, or by greater minima when suggested by thenotifying official:a. Lateral separation− 1 mile between theemergency location and either of the following:1. An aircraft under radar control and theemergency location which can be accuratelydetermined by reference to the radar scope.2. The airspace to be protected for the routebeing flown.b. Vertical separation− 6,000 feet above thesurface over the emergency location.10−7−3. VFR MINIMAAdvise all known VFR aircraft which are, or will be,operating in the vicinity of a ground missileemergency, to avoid the emergency location by 1 milelaterally or 6,000 feet vertically, or by a greaterdistance or altitude, when suggested by the notifyingofficial.10−7−4. SMOKE COLUMN AVOIDANCEAdvise all aircraft to avoid any observed smokecolumns in the vicinity of a ground missileemergency.10−7−5. EXTENDED NOTIFICATIONEN ROUTEWhen reports indicate that an emergency will existfor an extended period of time, a Notice to Airmenmay be issued.Ground Missile Emergencies10−7−1
