The directory tree windows in theTivoli Storage Manager Client Java GUI allow you to select files <strong>and</strong> directories toinclude or exclude. You should use this preview comm<strong>and</strong> to make sure that youinclude <strong>and</strong> exclude the correct files. The following is a sample scenario for usingthe include-exclude preview function.For example, follow these steps to back up the files on your /Users/home file space:1. Bring up the Tivoli Storage Manager Client Java GUI <strong>and</strong> open the Backup tree.You can see all of the directories <strong>and</strong> files that have been excluded by youroptions file <strong>and</strong> other sources.2. Scroll down the tree <strong>and</strong> notice that all of the *.o files in your/Volumes/home/mary/myobjdir are backed up.3. You don't want to back up all of the *.o files, so you right click a .o file, <strong>and</strong>choose "View File Details" from the popup menu.4. The dialog shows that these files are included, so click the "Advanced" button<strong>and</strong> create a rule to exclude all .o files from the DATA:\home file space.5. A rule is created at the bottom of your options file. The current directory isrefreshed in the Backup tree, <strong>and</strong> the .o files have the red ’X’, meaning theyare excluded.6. When you look at other directories, they show the new excludes that you haveadded.
