SnapshotcachelocationUse the snapshotcachelocation option during an online image backup or open filesupport operation to specify where the Tivoli Storage Manager Logical VolumeSnapshot Agent (LVSA) stores the snapshot cache.The snapshot cache stores original copies of blocks that change during the courseof the backup operation.Important: Use the default snapshot cache location x:\tsmlvsa, where x: is thedrive being backed up. Specify a location on a different drive if the drive beingbacked up is expected to change significantly during the course of the backupoperation and is unlikely to have enough free space to cache the original datablocks. If the snapshotprovider option is VSS, this option is ignored.For an online image backup, use the snapshotcachelocation option with the backupimage command, in the dsm.opt file, or with the include.image option.For open file support operations, you can specify the snapshotcachelocation optionin your dsm.opt file or with the include.fs option.Supported ClientsThis option is valid for all supported Windows clients. The server can also definethis option.Options FilePlace this option in the client options file. You can set this option on theImage-Snapshot tab of the Preferences editor.Syntax►► SNAPSHOTCACHELocation path ►◄ParameterspathSpecifies the location where the LVSA places the cache files. The path mustspecify a formatted volume. With the single drive enhancements of LVSA inTivoli Storage Manager Version 5.3, cache files can be placed on the samevolume that is being backed up. The default location is to create the OBF fileson the volume on which the snapshot is taken.
