Instead of editing the dsm.opt file each time you want toconnect to a different server, create two options files. From a command prompt, use the copy command to replace the dsm.opt filewith the appropriate options file before you begin a backup or archive session. For example: copy a.opt dsm.opt, then dsm.2. Use the optfile option on the command line to specify the options file you wantto use. For example: dsm -optfile=b.opt.3. Define the DSM_CONFIG environment variable to specify the options file touse: SET DSM_CONFIG=C:\Program Files\Tivoli\TSM\baclient\b.opt.If you are running from the command line, the DSM_DIR and DSM_LOGenvironment variables might also need to be configured as follows:1. Define the DSM_DIR environment variable to point to the directory where allother executable files reside:SET DSM_DIR=C:\Program Files\Tivoli\TSM\baclient2. Define the DSM_LOG environment variable to point to the directory wheredsmerror.log resides:SET DSM_LOG=C:\Program Files\Tivoli\TSM\baclientNote: The directory path where the client executable files are located must beincluded in the PATH environment variable or you must enter a fully qualifiedpath.Chapter 2.
