Use the restore systemstate comm<strong>and</strong> torestore ASR files on these operating systems. On Windows XP <strong>and</strong> WindowsServer 2003, restoring the ASR files is a separate task from restoring system state.To restore the ASR files for Windows XP <strong>and</strong> Windows Server 2003, use the TivoliStorage Manager GUI as follows.1. Click Restore in the GUI main window. The Restore window appears.2. Exp<strong>and</strong> the directory tree by clicking the plus sign + or the folder icon next toan object in the tree.3. Click the selection box next to the Automated System Recovery node or clickon the ASR selection box from the file list.When you select Automated System Recovery from the directory tree, theresults are displayed in the file list. Any inactive version of a particular file isindicated by the icon marked with an X next to the selection box. If you restoreinactive ASR files in ASR recovery mode, you must ensure that the system stateis restored to the same point in time as the ASR files. This requires that youmust manually modify the tsmasr.cmd file because the default comm<strong>and</strong>parameters in the tsmasr.cmd file do restore the system to the last activebackup. The restore comm<strong>and</strong>s in the tsmasr.cmd file do not specify inactivepoint-in-time parameters.4. Click Restore. Enter values for the fields. You can choose to restore the ASRfiles to their original destination on the system drive (\adsm.sys\ASR) ortoadifferent location, such as portable media.5. Click Restore.
