Repeat this procedure for each cluster group managed by Tivoli Storage Manager.VCS:You must use the VCS Configuration Editor to add a network name <strong>and</strong> IPaddress resource for each group that is managed by the client.Follow these steps to add a network name <strong>and</strong> IP address resource:1. Open the VCS Configuration Editor. You are prompted with the Build a newconfiguration or modify existing configuration window which provides thefollowing options: New Config - If you select this option you are prompted forthe path for the types.cf file, <strong>and</strong> Open Existing Config - If you select thisoption, the configuration window opens. Click on RESOURCE GROUP youwant to modify.2. Click on the Edit button <strong>and</strong> select Add resource. The Add Resource windowopens.3. Enter the name you want to give the resource in Resource Name field.4. Select the Resource Type as IP. The attributes of the IP resource type appear.5. Click the Edit button to modify the resource attributes.a. Select the MACAddress attribute <strong>and</strong> enter the MAC address of adapter youwant the IP to be assigned to.b. Select the SubNetMask attribute <strong>and</strong> enter the subnetmask.c. Select the Address attribute <strong>and</strong> enter the IP address you want to makeHigh-Availability.6. When you are finished, close the window. The Configuration window promptsyou whether to save the configuration; click Yes.Step 5: Create a generic service resource for failover:This topic guides you through the steps to create a generic service resource forfailover.MSCS:To add a Generic Service resource to each cluster group managed by Tivoli StorageManager, you must use the Microsoft Cluster Administrator utility.1. Select the group-a folder under the MSCS-Cluster\Groups folder <strong>and</strong> select File–> New –> Resource from the dropdown menu.2. In the New Resource dialog, enter a unique name in the Name field. Forexample: TSM CLIENT ACCEPTOR SERVICE for GROUP-A. Enter a description in theDescription field. Change resource type to Generic Service in the Resource Typefield. Enter the group name in the Group field. Press Enter.3. In the Possible Owner dialog, ensure that all cluster nodes appear as possibleowners. Press Enter.4. In the Dependencies dialog add all physical disk resources as ResourceDependencies. Press Enter.5. In the Generic Service Parameters dialog, enter the service name you specifiedwith the dsmcutil comm<strong>and</strong>, in the Service Name field. Leave the StartupParameters field blank. Press Enter.6. In the Registry Replication dialog, add the registry key corresponding to theTivoli Storage Manager node name <strong>and</strong> server name. The format for this key is:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\IBM\ADSM\CurrentVersion\Nodes\Chapter 2. Configure the Tivoli Storage Manager client 57
