To increase the reliability of the Tivoli Storage Manager client scheduler service onWindows, you should set the services to automatically recover from a failure, asfollows:vvvvBring up the Windows services management console (Control Panel →Administrative Tools → Services)Right-click <strong>and</strong> select Properties for the "TSM Client Scheduler" service.Click the Recovery tab.Define the recovery action as Restart the service for first, second, <strong>and</strong>subsequent failures.If you are using the client acceptor daemon to manage the scheduler, you must setthe recovery properties for the "TSM Client Acceptor" service, but leave the settingsfor the "TSM Client Scheduler" to take no action for first, second, <strong>and</strong> subsequentfailures. The same recovery settings can also be defined to increase the reliability ofthe "TSM Journal Service."To start the client acceptor daemon use the following comm<strong>and</strong>:sudo /sbin/SystemStarter start dsmcadTo restart the client acceptor daemon use the following comm<strong>and</strong>:sudo /sbin/SystemStarter restart dsmcadTo stop the client acceptor daemon use the following comm<strong>and</strong>:sudo /sbin/SystemStarter stop dsmcadExamples: Display information about scheduled workSchedules can be classic or enhanced, depending on how the interval to the nextexecution is defined.Classic schedules allow the period to be as small as an hour.
