Toalleviate this problem, you can grant the Backup Operators group Read andWrite permissions to the log files or the directories containing these log files.If you have been creating Windows 2003, Windows Vista, or Windows 7 systemstate backups with an account that is a member of the Administrators group,and if you want to start backing up or restoring data with an account that is amember of the Backup Operators group, you must delete the staging directory,c:\adsm.sys, before backing up or restoring the system state as a member of theBackup Operators group.If you have existing backups from a Tivoli Storage Manager Version 5.2 orearlier client and you attempt an incremental backup of an existing file spacewith a member of the Backup Operators group, all of the data appears aschanged and it is resent to the Tivoli Storage Manager Server.Members of the Backup Operators group might not be able to back up or restorefile data that was encrypted by an Administrator account using the Windowsencrypting file system (EFS).Members of the Backup Operators group do not have the proper authority toupdate the last access time for files that is encrypted with the Windowsencrypting file system (EFS).
