vvvIf the nodename <strong>and</strong> virtualnodename options are not specified, or a virtualnode name is not specified on the comm<strong>and</strong> line, the default login ID is thename returned by the hostname comm<strong>and</strong>.If the nodename option is specified, the name specified with the nodenameoption overrides the name returned by the hostname comm<strong>and</strong>.If the virtualnodename option is specified, or a virtual node name is specified ona comm<strong>and</strong> line, it cannot be the same name as the name returned by thehostname comm<strong>and</strong>.When the virtual node name is accepted by the server, a password is required(assuming authentication is on), even if the passwordaccess option is generate. Thepassword is not stored in the Windows Registry even when the passwordaccessoption is set to generate. Once a connection to the server is established, then accessis permitted to any file backed up using this login ID.For the Java GUI, the virtualnodename option only works if you are root user. Ifyou need to use the virtualnodename option with a non-root user account, use thecomm<strong>and</strong>-line client (or native GUI, for platforms that still have one).Note: The Tivoli Storage Manager client can use file space information whenrestoring files. The file space information can contain the name of the computerfrom which the files were backed up. If you restore from another Tivoli StorageManager client node <strong>and</strong> do not specify a destination for the restored files, theclient uses the file space information to restore the files. In such a case, the clientattempts to restore the files to the file system on the original computer. If therestoring computer has access to the file system of the original computer, you canrestore files to the original file system. If the restoring computer can not access thefile system of the original computer, the client can return a network error message.If you want to restore the original directory structure but on a different computer,specify only the target file system when you restore.
