vvvvIt is not necessary to format a target volume prior to restoring an image backupcontaining a file system.Tivoli Storage Manager requires an exclusive lock to destination volume you arerestoring. The client locks, restores, unlocks, unmounts, <strong>and</strong> mounts the volumeduring a restore operation. During the restore process the destination volume isnot available to other applications.If you use the pick option, the following information is displayed for file systemimages backed up by the client:– Image Size– Stored Size - This is the actual image size stored on the server. Because imagebackup allows you to back up only used blocks in a file system, the storedimage size on the Tivoli Storage Manager server could be smaller than thevolume size. For online image backups, the stored image can be larger thanthe file system based on the size of the cache files.– File system type– Backup date <strong>and</strong> time– Management class assigned to image backup– Whether the image backup is an active or inactive copy– The image nameIf for some reason a restored image is corrupted, you should run chkdsk tocheck for <strong>and</strong> repair any bad sectors or data inconsistencies (unless the restoredvolume is RAW).Supported ClientsThis comm<strong>and</strong> is valid for all Windows clients.Syntax►►REStore Imageoptionssourcefilespec"sourcefilespec"►►destinationfilespec►◄ParameterssourcefilespecSpecifies the name of a source image file system to be restored.
