ScheduleIf you want to retrieve archives from file spaces that were renamed by theUnicode-enabled client, you must specify the source on the server and adestination on the client. For example, you archived files from your H-disk, named\\your-node\h$ prior to installing the client. After the installation, you issue thefollowing archive command:arc h:\logs\*.logBefore the archive takes place, the server renames the file space to\\your-node\h$_OLD. The archive continues placing the data specified in the currentoperation into the Unicode-enabled file space named \\your-node\h$. That filespace now contains only the \logs directory and the *.log files. If you want toretrieve a file from the (old) renamed file space to its original location, you mustenter both the source and destination as follows:retrieve \\your-node\h$_OLD\docs\myresume.doc h:\docs\Retrieve named streamsTivoli Storage Manager retrieves named streams on a file basis only.Directories in Windows XP can contain named streams. Named streams attached toa directory will always be overwritten (regardless of the value of the promptoption) during the retrieve.Retrieve sparse filesWhen retrieving sparse files to a non-NTFS file system, set the Servercommunication time out value (idletimeout) to the maximum value of 255 to avoidclient session timeout. The following issues apply if more data is restored than the Microsoft disk quotaallows:vvIf the user performing the retrieve has a disk quota (e.g., belongs to the BackupOperator Group), Tivoli Storage Manager will not retrieve any data that exceedsthe disk quota of the retrieve user and will display a "Disk Full" message. If the user performing the retrieve does not have a disk quota (e.g., belongs tothe Administrator Group), Tivoli Storage Manager will retrieve all data andtransfer ownership of those files which exceed the disk quota of the originalowner to the user performing the retrieve (in this case, the Administrator). The schedule command starts the client scheduler on your workstation. The clientscheduler must be running before scheduled work can start.Note:1. The schedule command cannot be used if the managedservices option is set toschedule (does not apply to Mac OS X).2. This command is valid only on the initial command line. It is not valid ininteractive mode or in a macro file.If the schedmode option is set to polling, the client scheduler contacts the serverfor scheduled events at the hourly interval you specified with thequeryschedperiod option in your client options file (dsm.opt). If your administratorsets the queryschedperiod option for all nodes, that setting overrides the clientsetting.652 IBM Tivoli Storage Manager for Windows Backup-Archive Clients: Installation and User's Guide
