knee. Fortunately, he is doing incredibly well now. He is a
feisty redhead possessed with incredible charm and
determination. He walks with a prosthesis and is able to do
most of the same things any kid can do. This is in no small
part due to the services he has received at CCS. He has
been seeing Vicky, his physical therapist, almost every
week since he was a baby. He looks forward to seeing her
every time we go. Severing this relationship could have an
extremely deleterious effect. The trust our most vulnerable
children build over time should not be set aside because of
short-term (albeit real) budgetary concerns. While Quinn is
thriving and overcoming his disability, I see so many
children at CCS who are in dire need of therapy.
Maximizing their potential is absolutely essential to
mitigating their potential eventual reliance on the state. At
the very least some mechanism by which insurance
companies could contribute to the expense of the therapy
is necessary.

Children's Services to treat his mild cerebral palsy. If the
service is cut, he will not be able to receive the treatment
he needs, and his medical insurance will not cover the
costs.
