child with brain injury and children like her
drastically. It proposes to cut CCS (CA Children's
Services) therapy services for children whose families
make more than $40K and kids who seem "mild." CCS has
been a Godsend for our friend's family and has provided
essential, high
quality therapy for their daughter since she was four years
old. She is doing very well, but continues to need therapy
intermittently so she can use her left side more effectively.
The proposed cuts are only .07% of the budget and
don't really save the state money; it just moves around
which organization pays. It is looking towards school
districts and insurance companies to provide and pay -
which means we all pay more. It is so important that
children with Cerebral Palsy, brain injury, and similar
diagnosis' receive therapy as soon as possible to help
them reach their full potential. This proposed budget
cut would effectively take away therapy from children who
need it.
