5,825. Gail Sakai Modes<strong>to</strong>, CA generally, <strong>in</strong>surance coverage for <strong>the</strong>rapy visits might be<br />

10-12 visits ...<strong>the</strong>se type of conditions require far more<br />

than this as <strong>the</strong> needs will change as <strong>the</strong> children get<br />

older. Pediatric <strong>the</strong>rapy is a specialty <strong>in</strong> itself and general<br />

<strong>the</strong>rapists practic<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> community do not have <strong>the</strong><br />

expertise <strong>to</strong> adequately treat <strong>the</strong>se children. The amount of<br />

<strong>the</strong>rapy an <strong>in</strong>surance coverage would handle would only<br />

scratch <strong>the</strong> surface. why should those with <strong>in</strong>comes<br />

greater than 40,000 have <strong>to</strong> have poorer quality of c<strong>are</strong> for<br />

<strong>the</strong>ir special needs child than those who <strong>are</strong> poorer.<br />

5,826. Jeanne Ewy Oakland, CA Hav<strong>in</strong>g worked with <strong>the</strong>se families and children, I f<strong>in</strong>d it<br />

hard <strong>to</strong> believe that we should want <strong>the</strong>m <strong>to</strong> struggle<br />

harder so that <strong>the</strong> wealthy can put more money <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir<br />

pockets.<br />

5,833. Diana Scott Yorba L<strong>in</strong>da, CA I can't imag<strong>in</strong>e try<strong>in</strong>g <strong>to</strong> live on a 40000 plus alittle over <strong>in</strong><br />

<strong>in</strong>come and also try <strong>to</strong> pay for <strong>the</strong>rapy for your<br />

handicapped child . i would like <strong>to</strong> see <strong>the</strong> people who<br />

write <strong>the</strong>se bill and pass <strong>the</strong>m live on this amount before<br />

<strong>the</strong>y pass such a bill , <strong>the</strong>y would pause and th<strong>in</strong>k for a<br />

change..<br />

5,834. Rosal<strong>in</strong>d Black Napa, CA These services <strong>are</strong> an <strong>in</strong>vestment for children's<br />

<strong>in</strong>dependence. Without <strong>the</strong>se services many if not most<br />

families of middle <strong>in</strong>come and below could not afford MTU<br />

type services. Result<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> a need for more services<br />

throughout <strong>the</strong>ir lives not less. These <strong>are</strong> not cost effective<br />

cuts for <strong>the</strong> long term.<br />
