296. Christ<strong>in</strong>a Teich Santa Barbara, CA Teach<strong>in</strong>g children with neurological mo<strong>to</strong>r issues <strong>the</strong><br />

necessary skills <strong>to</strong> be successful <strong>in</strong> society is extremely<br />

important. Without <strong>the</strong>se services <strong>the</strong>se children will not<br />

receive <strong>the</strong> adequate skills <strong>to</strong> become <strong>in</strong>dependent or learn<br />

<strong>to</strong> modify <strong>the</strong>ir environment as necessary.<br />

311. Carol Maddox Oakland, CA As a <strong>the</strong>rapist who has worked for <strong>the</strong> CCS MTP for over<br />

20 years, I am extremely concerned at how this would<br />

affect <strong>the</strong> children of <strong>the</strong> families who would no longer<br />

qualify. A family of four mak<strong>in</strong>g $40,000 is b<strong>are</strong>ly surviv<strong>in</strong>g<br />

<strong>in</strong> many parts of <strong>California</strong>, even if <strong>the</strong>y didn't have <strong>the</strong><br />

added expenses <strong>in</strong>curred when deal<strong>in</strong>g with a child with a<br />

significant physical disability. Additionally, <strong>the</strong>se families<br />

<strong>are</strong> also probably hav<strong>in</strong>g <strong>to</strong> deal with more medical and<br />

o<strong>the</strong>r appo<strong>in</strong>tments, possibly more days home sick from<br />

school, th<strong>in</strong>gs that may make job security at <strong>the</strong> lower<br />

levels of <strong>the</strong> ladder more tenous...<br />
