very beneficial for the children and their families. With
recession and gas prices there is no way a working family
can afford therapy services. Without therapy the child
would be limited in their abilities and their quality of life
would suffer. It would cost the state more to care for these
children as adults. We have to support this petition and not
let this go into effect.

program, including the MTU services, is essential. This
program is already limited and the eligibility extremely
specific. Providing services to these children early often
helps to resolve many issues early rather than waiting for
them to become more severe and significant, which then
needs to be dealt with in a more costly way for all. Not
providing services early often creates situations that are
financially more costly for the state with future medical,
educational and social programs. Early support for families
to address some of these issues perhaps requires more
funding upfront, however if your vision is greater that the
next 1 - 5 years - the savings is huge in dollar amount, and
on the emotional, educational and social fronts.
