El Cajon, CA My son has cerebral palsy due to multiple in utero strokes.
My husband and I work full-time to maintain medical
coverage and support our family. My son goes to MTU
twice a week. This change would disqualify my son for
services. Our private insurance would provide a handful of
therapy appointments a year - nowhere near the 104
sessions a year he has through the MTU. Without the
MTU, his condition would worsen, preventing him from
having any mobility and requiring on-going surgeries to
alleviate pain. CCS MTU services are a necessity for ALL
children with qualifying conditions regardless of financial
status.

qualify if there was a income restriction. And we cannot
afford to pay for the amount of therapy needed.

effectiveness of early intervention. Many parents who
utilize CCS services would have no other way to receive
these aprticular services without CCS -- including my
family. CCS MTU is the reason why our daughter can walk.
Aside from the obvious social reasons why we should take
care of children with disabilities -- early intervention means
better long term outcomes which means fewer strains on
our healthcare and social services in the long run.

budget cut would mean that Sierra may not be able to get
the help she so desperately needs at this young, formative
age, with the occupational and physical therapy programs
that are helping her learn to move the right side of her
body.
