California Children Services for 15 years. I have seen the
benefits of providing PT and OT services to children with
special needs. I feel that if you limit these services to
certain children based on their income, these children will
not be able to receive the same amount of quality,
consistent care that we are able to provide at CCS. If you
are relying on insurances and self pay for these services,
the quality of care is going to decrease. These children are
going to suffer and I feel that it is going to cost more
money to take care of these children as they grow older
and don't receive proper care. They are going to require
more surgeries to repair joint contractures and will end up
costing more money to purchase equipment. This is
another example of how hard working middle class citizens
and their children are going to suffer becasue they make
slightly too much money. This is shameful and wrong.
Please reconsider this proposal and allow all of the
children in California with physical disabilities to receive the
same quality of care. Don't punish hard working families
who are trying to do the best for their families.
