Berkeley, CA This is the first time in the entire history of CCS that we will
be denying physical therapy to families based on income. It
is WRONG...what's next: Means testing for public schools?
Children under 3 years old will not be able to receive
therapy through school based IEPs becasue they are too
young to qualify. I have been a social worker in CCS since
1979 and am shocked and disheartened at the governor's
intended cuts in services.

badly need. parents of these children have huge expenses
to care for these children. if they had to pay for therapy,
they probably couldn't pay for it and the children would
lose out. therapy is terribly important for them to have a
chance at a decent life.
