6,207. JUDITH REEDY Redding, CA I am an Occupational Therapist serving these children,
many of whom would be unable to receive any therapy
services at all if these budget cuts go through. Without
therapy services, these children would no-doubt require
greater levels of care in the future, which would end up
costing higher levels of tax dollars. This will not save our
state money in the long run!!! I would be in favor of of a
nominal income-based co-pay for our services, but not of
cutting them all together based on income. We already
have children whose medical equipment coverage is
inadequate because their family's income is over $40,000,
so CCS does not cover their equipment, and their
insurance deductible is so high the family cannot afford to
pay for needed equipment/repairs. This is a big safety
issue for these children! We all know that insurance
coverage is becoming less affordable for employed
parents, and insurance coverage for therapies and
equipment is getting worse, not better.

6,209. Kathleen Bravo Ontario, CA I've watched firsthand the struggles my son and
daughter-in-law have gone through financially and
emotional trying to give their son every opportunity to live a
normal happy little 4 year olds life, and hopefully the
opportunity to walk free of his walker. To be able to run,
jump, throw a baseball, kick a soccer ball, just as every
little boy wants to do. CCS has played a critical role in my
grandson progress, and hopefully with continued therapy
he will be able to accomplish those goals. Without the
services he receives from CCS he will suffer setbacks in
many areas. Lets be honest, just for starters, if the state
needs to cut somewhere how about cutting the ridiculous
perks a vast number of inmates receive, many of them
brought on their own fate, these children did not.
