"save" money with cuts to current funding initially, we
would very soon see an impact throughout CCS and other
healthcare and educational systems. I am very concerned
about how this might impact our state's already struggling
educational programs, as there would very likely be a
backlash of a severe and seriously impacting increase in
OT and PT needs in our schools. (CCS MTP and schools
currently work in collaboration to best meet the needs of
children from medical and educational models.) CCS MTP
provides an essential backbone of services (including
therapy interventions, parent education, physician
involvement, and central case management) throughout
the developmental years which would result in a
detrimental loss to the clients/families and increase the
burden on many other state and private systems if lost.
Please do not cut funding to this vital program or restrict
eligibility for MTP services.

Union City, CA My son has cerebral palsy and is in physical and
occupational therapy 2 times a week. With this budget cut,
we would be affected and would no longer qualify for
services through CCS. I have seen my son make progress
with the help of the CCS staff, I do not want to have to stop
and seek services else where.

he'd ever walk because a cancerous tumor grew through
his spine while in utero. With excellent and continuous
therapy from CCS, he is now a thriving 8 year old who
runs, jumps and walks with the aid of orthotics. He was
