families that depend on physical therapy to make their
children as funcitonal as possible and who could not afford
to provide therapy out of pocket. It is essential these
children receive treatment.

providing programs, education, and some sort of help for
them to live in this world and especially here in California.
Because this is where my son and I live.
I am a single parent of an autistic son. He has been in
special education all of his school years. He was able to
get a job thru the state disability program becuase he has
learning problems. They assigned him a job consulor and a
job coach. Then they get you a job. It is easy for them to
do. The company pays half salary and the state pays the
other half - for 3 months. After 3 months the company
decides to keep the person or not. If he or she is let go,
then they find another job. But the 3 months costs the
company nearly nothing to put them on payroll and they
probably get brownie points for hiring those who have
problems.
I had learning problems in school, but "back then" there
was no help for me. Both my son and I have low I.Q. I
failed the 8th grade and had to take it over and I limped my
way thru high school. I then flunked out of college twice.
The college consulor told me that if I failed a 3rd time, I
would be scholastically expelled and would never be able
to go to a college in California ever again. That would be it.
I stopped trying to fight the situation and got a full-time job.
Later, much later I was able to return and take one or 2
classes at a time and finally got my AA degree.
In the past I worked with a lot of illegals, wetbacks,
undocumented imigrants. Pick which ever word you want.
But I HAD to learn some Spanish. With one jerk-boss I
learned 2 things - stay the hell away from him when he had
temper tantrums (which was nearly all the time) and learn
some Spanish.
Another creepy boss, who also hired non-English speaking
Hispanics would call all of us English speaking people into
his office and rant and rave because "they" who refused to
learn English would do the job wrong because they could
not read the job order. But the fact that the job was done
