Gold River, CA As the parent of a child with a developmental disability, I
know how important it is for my child's health to be able to
participate in school activities and to simply be able to
move. MTP is one thing that helps my child to do both of
those things. Families don't need one more barrier to
getting the services they need for their children, especially
something as basic and necessary as MTP.

have disabilities.

hand what OT and PT can do for a child. I would love to
see these practices offered to marginal children as well as
the more disabled. How wonderful it would be for all
children who need help to have it when they need it and
then be able to move on.
5,039. Karen Minic Campbell, CA CCS provides crucial therapy services to some of the most
vulnerable members of our society - children with special
needs. Most insurance companies do not cover long-term
therapy for chronic disabling conditions, and CCS is the
only service that providew that. Many families, though they
earn more than $40,000 are still unable to afford the extra
cost of weekly therapies for their children. I agree that it will
be a shifting of cost to other government-funded
organizations, many whom are not trained to deal with the
very unique diagnoses that CCS therapists are specially
equipped and trained to treat. The children will ultimately
be the ones suffering if these proposed changes are made.

families already financially challenged above and beyond
those that have typical kids.
Assisting all children to gain functional independence ,the
younger the better is important for their quality and
productivity.. Having no therapy can result in earlier and
possibly more orthopedic surgeries, and compound issues
around postural integrity which again leads to less
