3. ETALONNAGE DE LA BASE 3.1 PRINCIPE DE LA MESURE Chaque antenne constituant la sonde de mesure reçoit idéalement une seule composante du champ électrique incident. Les signaux captés sont acheminés vers des récepteurs vectoriels délivrant une tension (amplitude, phase) proportionnelle à une seule composante du champ reçu (figure 3-3). La réponse idéale est donc : Mais les antennes réelles présentent toujours un taux de polarisation croisée se traduisant par la capacité de l'antenne à capter la composante d'un champ perpendiculaire à la polarisation principale. Ainsi, par exemple, la chaîne dédiée à analyser la polarisation "V" captera également, de manière plus ou moins atténuée, la polarisation "H", et la tension délivrée sur le récepteur sera proportionnelle à une combinaison complexe des deux composantes et non plus à la composante verticale seule. Ainsi, le rayonnement de chaque antenne doit être caractérisé par deux valeurs différentes de gain selon la polarisation reçue (ou émise).
