IENA PACKET format
An IENA packet can be seen as the composition of two optimised main structures:
- The HEADER field which contain the necessary data used by Flight Test Installation to carry the
information to the right receivers. Those structures are fully described in the data base of each
equipment. The header field contains seven 16 bits words.
- The PARAMETERS field is a set of parameters that IENA system produce and transmit to receivers
across IENA network.
The key field identifies the packet. This field is used to select a group or a family of parameters.
For example one key could group analog parameters with one given sample acquisition
frequency. (An analog parameter could be a temperature, strain gage….)
It gives the IENA packet length in 16 bits word. The size is computed from the KEY field to
the END field.
Each size is controlled by the packet decoder tools before reading parameters in the current
packet.
