The Digital Height Model 25 (DHM25) is a standard grid based on the Swiss National Map 1:25’000 that
gives the altitude value every 25 m. Its accuracy is 1.5 m in the Plateau and the Jura, 2 m in Ticino and
the Prealps and 3 m in the Alps.
It is also used to derive slope and aspect maps.

Scale: 1:200’000
The main geotypes for the Canton of Vaud have been described in the Cadanav project. The
classification was made on the basis of the digital soil suitability map of Switzerland.
This data is used here as a criteria to define the vegetation zone and thereafter the annual growth of
species.

Vector25 is the Swiss landscape model that describes the land in terms of individual objects, networks
and surfaces. The specific road network layer, which is based on the Swiss National Map 1:25’000, is
classified in 34 different categories, including the German and French road nomenclature.
10.3.2 Unavailable data
A couple of important data layers for the assessment of energy-wood potentials were not available during
the present study. The following comment shortly explains the reasons of their unavailability and inform
