State Important Provisions of the State Law Key Points to Ensure Compliance<br />

Vermont Vermont prohibits all HCP meals,<br />

including in-office meals <strong>and</strong> meals of<br />

nominal value (there is a limited<br />

exception for: (i) bona fide service<br />

contracts <strong>and</strong> (ii) refreshments or other<br />

snacks at a booth at a<br />

convention/congress).<br />

Vermont also prohibits paid market<br />

research surveys involving VT licensed<br />

HCPs. The restriction applies whether<br />

the survey is conducted directly by<br />

<strong>Pfizer</strong> or through an independent third<br />

party survey research organization.<br />

<strong>Pfizer</strong> must report certain HCP<br />

expenditures, as well as samples,<br />

coupons <strong>and</strong> vouchers, to VT.<br />

Price Disclosure Forms must be<br />

provided to HCPs when detailing <strong>and</strong><br />

posted on <strong>Pfizer</strong>’s website.<br />

Do not invite VT HCPs to any speaker<br />

programs that provide meals or snacks<br />

(even if the program is conducted<br />

outside of VT).<br />

Do not provide VT HCPs with meals or<br />

snacks (except refreshments or snacks<br />

in a convention setting).<br />

Do not engage VT HCPs as part of any<br />

paid marketing research surveys.<br />

Accurately <strong>and</strong> completely record all<br />

HCP expenditures, as well as samples,<br />

coupons <strong>and</strong> vouchers provided to VT<br />

licensed HCPs.<br />

has a VT license, you can check the<br />

HCP License List which is available on<br />

the “State Healthcare Law<br />

Compliance” tab on<br />

http://OpSource.<strong>Pfizer</strong>.com or under<br />

the Compliance tab on PfieldNet.<br />

Also, iCUE flags most (but not all) VT<br />

HCPs.<br />

You must make a good faith effort to<br />

determine whether an HCP is licensed<br />

in VT.<br />

Provide VT Price Disclosure Forms to<br />

HCPs as appropriate (available on<br />

PfieldNet).<br />
