<strong>Orange</strong> <strong>Guide</strong> – Chapter 3: Support of External Organizations<br />
Q. Does the External Funding Policy apply to sponsorship <strong>and</strong> funding requests<br />
from for-profit organizations?<br />
A. No. These requests are evaluated under similar st<strong>and</strong>ards but are not<br />
covered by the Funding SOP <strong>and</strong> should not be processed using the Funding<br />
Request Form (FRF). Sales Colleagues should process these requests through<br />
their Regional Coordinator <strong>and</strong> non-Sales Colleagues must submit these<br />
requests to their Legal counsel.<br />
Sales Funded Exhibit <strong>and</strong> Display Requests<br />
Q. Are Exhibit <strong>and</strong> Display Fees made payable to not-for-profit organizations<br />
covered by the External Funding Policy?<br />
A. No. Exhibit <strong>and</strong> Display requests received by Sales are excluded from the<br />
External Funding Policy. You should submit Exhibit <strong>and</strong> Display requests<br />
through Interact using the Funding Request Form (FRF) which will be routed<br />
to your Program Activity Coordinator for review <strong>and</strong> follow the applicable<br />
policies (available in OpSource under the “Funding Requests” tab). However,<br />
if an Exhibit <strong>and</strong> Display request is part of a package that includes other<br />
benefits (in addition to exhibit <strong>and</strong> display space), then the External Funding<br />
Policy should be followed.<br />
Appropriate <strong>Pfizer</strong> Foundation Referrals<br />
Q. Can a customer’s request for a charitable contribution be forwarded to the<br />
<strong>Pfizer</strong> Foundation for consideration?<br />
A. No. The <strong>Pfizer</strong> Foundation is an independent, tax exempt organization<br />
established by <strong>Pfizer</strong> Inc. The <strong>Pfizer</strong> Foundation provides funding through<br />
targeted initiatives focused primarily on health care <strong>and</strong> science education<br />
such as the <strong>Pfizer</strong> Foundation Matching Gifts Program or the <strong>Pfizer</strong><br />
Foundation Southern HIV/AIDS Prevention Initiative.<br />
Collaborations <strong>and</strong> Coalitions<br />
Another way that <strong>Pfizer</strong> supports external organizations is by participating in collaborations or joining<br />
coalitions to advance shared objectives. Colleagues must follow the review, approval <strong>and</strong><br />
documentation requirements applicable to their division. The requirements for U.S. Biopharmaceutical<br />
Business, <strong>Pfizer</strong> Medical <strong>and</strong> PEAC groups are described below.<br />
