8.7 Design and Engineering of Thermal<br />

Projects<br />

The following design & engineering<br />

assignments as a part of consultancy work were<br />

carried out:<br />

a) Review consultancy for Yamunanagar<br />

Thermal Power Project (2x300 MW)<br />

b) Review consultancy for Hisar Thermal<br />

Power Project (2x600 MW)<br />

c) Review consultancy for Raghunathpur TPP<br />

(2x600 MW).<br />

8.8 Design & Consultancy Assignments<br />

(Civil aspects) for Thermal/ Hydro/<br />

Power Transmission Projects<br />

CEA is providing consultancy services for<br />

Thermal Power Projects / Power Transmission<br />

Schemes. The civil aspects of cost estimates for<br />

stage-I and stage-II activities of Hydro<strong>power</strong><br />

Projects under three-stage clearance of H.E.<br />

Projects are also being examined. The monitoring<br />

of Fly Ash Generation and Utilization at Thermal<br />

Power Stations pertaining to Power Utilities in<br />

various States is being carried out. Assistance<br />

on civil engineering matters to various Wings/<br />

Divisions of CEA / MoP is also provided,<br />

whenever required. The main works carried out<br />

during the stated period are given as under:<br />

8.8.1 Design and Consultancy Assignments<br />

(civil aspects) for Thermal/Power<br />

Transmission Projects<br />

1) Consultancy services to Power Development<br />

Department, Govt. of J&K in respect of<br />

Transmission Project under Prime Minister’s<br />

Reconstruction Programme.<br />

2) Review Consultancy Services to DVC,<br />

Kolkata for Raghunathpur Thermal Power<br />

Station.<br />

3) Technical works in respect of other Thermal<br />

Power Plants viz. Yamuna Nagar TPS, RG<br />

TPP Hissar, Suratgarh TPP under Rajasthan<br />

Vidhyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd.<br />

The details of works carried out during<br />

the year are given at Annexure-8B.<br />

8.8.2 Assignment pertaining to Civil<br />

Works of Hydro-electric Projects<br />

CEA is providing following necessary<br />

assistance for civil works pertaining to H.E.<br />

Projects being referred to it.<br />

1) Preliminary comments on DPR of<br />

H.E. Projects.<br />

2) Checking and finalization of Quantities of<br />

Civil Works for DPR of H.E. Projects.<br />

3) Checking / finalization of phasing of Cost<br />

of Civil Works for DPR of H.E. Projects.<br />

4) Finalization of Cost Estimate for Stage-II<br />

activities of H.E. Projects.<br />

Details of the above works are at<br />

Annexure-8C.<br />

8.8.3 Consultancy and Technical Support<br />

a) The Technical Specifications for<br />

Remote Terminal Unit (RTU) and PLC<br />

Communication system for existing and new<br />

132kV and 220kV <strong>power</strong> line networks in<br />

Jammu & Kashmir Region were prepared by<br />

CEA and forwarded to Power Development<br />

Department (PDD), Government of J&K.<br />

Technical Bid Evaluation in respect of<br />

Kashmir Region has been completed and<br />

award may be placed shortly. In regard<br />

to Jammu Region, technical clarification<br />

sought by Bidders is being processed.<br />

b) A request for taking technical consultancy<br />

services of CEA has been made by Energy<br />
