Mohindergarh (Haryana) transmission line<br />

scheme.<br />

3.7 Cross-Border Power Exchange<br />

3.7.1 India-Bangladesh Grid<br />

connectivity<br />

In order to facilitate Cross-Border <strong>power</strong><br />

exchange between India and Bangladesh, it has<br />

been decided bilaterally to establish an electrical<br />

inter-connection between India and Bangladesh<br />

through a ±500MW HVDC asynchronous link<br />

at Bheramara (Western Part, Bangladesh) to<br />

be connected through Baharampur (India) –<br />

Bheramara (Bangladesh) 400kV D/C line along<br />

with establishment of 400kV switching-station at<br />

Baharampur (India) by looping-in and loopingout<br />

of Farakka-Jeerat 400kV Single circuit<br />

line. The project is targeted for completion<br />

within a period of 30 months from the date of<br />

award by PGCIL. The Indian portion of the<br />

line will be funded by PGCIL and the portion<br />

within Bangladesh would be funded by Govt. of<br />

Bangladesh.<br />

3.7.2 India-Bhutan Agreement<br />

The Royal Govt. of Bhutan has set the<br />

target of <strong>development</strong> of 10,000 MW by the year<br />

"Electricity is life: Conserve it."<br />
