Committee is to standardize the parameters<br />

for kVAh metering and methodology for the<br />

Harmonic measurement and reactive <strong>power</strong><br />

measurement. The report of the Committee is<br />

under finalization.<br />

7.3 Guidelines for Specifications for<br />

Transformers<br />

• Member(GO&D), CEA took a meeting on<br />

17 th November, 2009 with <strong>power</strong> utilities<br />

to share the experience of <strong>power</strong> utilities<br />

regarding Guidelines for ‘Specification of<br />

Energy Efficient Outdoor Type Three Phase<br />

and Single Phase Distribution Transformer’<br />

issued by CEA and use of Amorphous Core<br />

Transformers.<br />

• Matter regarding revision of limits of<br />

maximum losses of various capacity of<br />

distribution transformers included in the<br />

Guidelines of CEA is under examination.<br />

7.4 Reports of Sub Group–I constituted<br />

for Grid Interactive Roof Top Solar<br />

PV System<br />

(a) A Task Force was constituted by MNRE<br />

under the chairmanship of Chairperson,<br />

CEA to examine the technical issues related<br />

to feasibility of integrating solar <strong>power</strong><br />

plants with <strong>thermal</strong>/hydro <strong>power</strong> plant and<br />

inter-connectivity of solar rooftop system<br />

with the grid. The Task Force comprised<br />

of members from CEA, Ministry of<br />

Power, Ministry of Environment & Forest,<br />

MNRE, BEE, NTPC, NHPC, BHEL,<br />

CEL, RCEL, RRVUNL and GEDA. The<br />

first meeting of the Task Force was held<br />

on 18th June, 2009 at CEA Headquarters,<br />

New Delhi. During the meeting, three<br />

sub-groups were formed to look into<br />

interconnectivity of solar rooftop system<br />

with the grid, integration of solar <strong>power</strong><br />

plant with the existing <strong>thermal</strong> <strong>power</strong><br />

plant and integration of solar <strong>power</strong> plant<br />

with the existing hydro plant. Sub Group-I<br />

was also requested to prepare a Feasibility<br />

Report for installing solar plant in Leh<br />

and Sewa Bhawan.<br />

The first meeting of the Sub Group-I was<br />

held in July, 2009 at CEA Headquarters<br />

and based on the comments/ suggestions of<br />

the Committee Members and stakeholders,<br />

the following Reports were finalized and<br />

submitted to MNRE and also uploaded on<br />

CEA website for wide use:<br />

1. Report of Sub Group-I on the Grid tied<br />

Rooftop Solar PV system<br />

2. Detailed Project Report for Grid tied<br />

Rooftop Solar PV <strong>power</strong> plant at Sewa<br />

Bhawan<br />

3. Technical Specification of Grid tied<br />

Rooftop Solar PV system for Sewa<br />

Bhawan<br />

(b) A Seminar on ‘Solar Power Generation<br />

in India and Related Technologies’ was<br />

organized in association with CBIP on 9 th<br />

Februray, 2009 at New Delhi. CEA made<br />

the presentation in this seminar.<br />

(c) A tour to Leh was undertaken to study the<br />

feasibility of setting up of SPV plant there.<br />

The Feasibility Report for setting up of SPV<br />

Power Plant at Leh has been prepared and<br />

is being submitted to MNRE and Govt. of<br />

J&K.<br />

7.5 Committee for HVDS system for<br />

Gujarat<br />

A Committee, to assess the fund<br />

requirement for agriculture demand side<br />

management on HVDS in the State of Gujarat,<br />

was constituted by MoP under the chairmanship<br />
