Modernization /Life Extensions works on coal /<br />
lignite based <strong>thermal</strong> <strong>power</strong> stations and this<br />
document was released by Honorable Minister<br />
of Power on 14.12.2009 on the occasion of<br />
Energy Conservation Day.<br />
In the Perspective Plan, 53 units<br />
(7318 MW) for LE works and 76 units (18965<br />
MW) for R&M works have been identified in<br />
11 th Plan and for 12 th Plan 72 units (16532 MW)<br />
for LE work and 23 units (4871 MW) for R&M<br />
work have been identified.<br />
6.11 Life Extension / R&M Programme<br />
6.11.1 LE/R&M Programme during 11 th<br />
Plan (2007-08 to 2011-12)<br />
Status of implementation of LE & R&M<br />
works during 11 th Plan as on 31 st March, 2010<br />
is furnished at Annexure-6E & Annexure-6F<br />
respectively. Break up of units identified for LE /<br />
R&M works during 11 th Plan State Sector-wise<br />
and Central Sector-wise is furnished as under :<br />

11 th Plan<br />
The estimated fund requirements for LE and<br />
R&M programme for 11 th Plan is Rs. 16920 crores,<br />
comprising Rs. 12433 crores and Rs. 4487 crores<br />
for LE and R&M programme respectively, as<br />
would be seen from the table given below:-<br />

6.11.3 Life Extension Programme Status<br />
during 2007-08 to 2009-10 of the<br />
11 th Plan<br />
During the first three years of 11 th Plan (till<br />
March 2010), LE works have been completed in<br />
10 units comprising 7 units in the State Sector<br />
and 3 units of NTPC in the Central Sector out<br />
of total 53 units planned for 11 th Plan. Sectorwise<br />
details of units where LE works have been<br />
