7.6 Preparation of Monthly Progress<br />

Report for Reliability Index<br />

CEA is collecting information in respect<br />

of number and duration of outages of <strong>power</strong><br />

supply to consumer and reliability index besides<br />

the outages of 11 kV feeders in respect of<br />

State capitals & major towns with population<br />

of more than eight lakhs as well as other towns<br />

having population of more than one lakh. This<br />

information is being made available to CEA<br />

every month by various distribution companies<br />

where GIS system has been completed.<br />

7.7 Works related to Union Territories<br />

(UTs)<br />

CEA rendered technical assistance to<br />

the UTs viz Andaman & Nicobar Islands,<br />

Lakshadweep Islands, Dadra & Nagar Haveli,<br />

Daman & Diu, Pondicherry, Chandigarh and Delhi<br />

including NDMC in project/ DPR formulation,<br />

technical clearance of Generation, Transmission<br />

& Distribution Schemes of UTs, preparation<br />

of Technical Specification for procurement<br />

of equipment, vetting of NITs/ acceptance of<br />

tenders, advise to UT Administration on specific<br />

technical, organizational and staff matters etc.<br />

as and when referred to. CEA also renders<br />

technical advise to DONER and NCRPB as &<br />

when requested.<br />

The following main works were completed<br />

in respect of Union Territories (UTs):<br />

7.7.1 Andaman & Nicobar (A&N)<br />

Islands<br />

1. The scheme for augmentation of DG<br />

capacity and T&D system at Havelock<br />

Islands during 11 th Plan period was accorded<br />

technical clearance.<br />

2. Draft EFC Memo in respect of RCE for<br />

DPR of Restoration /Revival of damaged<br />

<strong>power</strong> supply infrastructure in various<br />

islands / areas in Andaman & Nicobar<br />

Island affected by earthquake & tsunami on<br />

26.12.2004 was vetted and comments sent<br />

to MoP/ UT Administration.<br />

3. CEA officers attended various meetings<br />

of the Standing Committee for Time and<br />

Cost Overrun in respect of RCE for DPR<br />

of Restoration/Revival of Power Sector<br />

in various Islands of UT of Andaman &<br />

Nicobar Islands affected by earthquake &<br />

tsunami chaired by Addl. Secretary, MoP.<br />

4. CEA officers attended EFC meeting taken<br />

by Secretary(Finance), GoI to consider the<br />

RCE for the scheme of Restoration/Revival<br />

of the Power Sector in the various Islands of<br />

UT of A&N Islands affected by earthquake<br />

and tsunami on 26.12.04 at an estimated<br />

cost of Rs. 297.53 Crores.<br />

5. Scheme for establishment of new DG<br />

Power House of 1x1000 kVA capacity at<br />

Mayabander was examined.<br />

7.7.2 Lakshadweep<br />

Technical Specifications for RMUs,<br />

distribution transformers and other equipments<br />

for augmentation of distribution system at various<br />

islands of UT of Lakshdweep were examined.<br />

7.7.3 Dadra & Nagar Haveli (D&NH)<br />

1. The schemes for establishment of new<br />

66/11 kV, 2x15 MVA S/S at Kala,<br />

augmentation of S/C 66 kV transmission line<br />

to Double Circuit line from Kharadpada to<br />

Dadra and 66 kV <strong>power</strong> supply arrangement<br />

to M/s JBF Industries Ltd. from Rakholi S/S<br />

were accorded technical clearance.<br />

2 Schemes for establishment of 66/11 kV S/Ss<br />

at Piperia, Velugam and Sailly and Revised<br />
