Hydro generating companies were also trained<br />
to furnish data regarding project investigation,<br />
project appraisal, construction monitoring,<br />
R&M, etc. However, the process of collection of<br />
data (other than daily data) from the aforesaid<br />
utilities in online mode is under testing and yet<br />
to stabilise.<br />
The study by the consultant to recommend<br />
further upgradation of IT facilities in CEA in<br />
Phase-II has also been initiated with the approval<br />
of MoP with the following broad objectives:<br />
• To provide adequate redundancy in the<br />
existing data centre to enhance reliability of<br />
the system and to build a separate disaster<br />
recovery data centre.<br />
• More intensive and comprehensive IT<br />
based monitoring of execution of <strong>power</strong><br />
projects.<br />
1.17 ISO 9001:2000 Quality System<br />
certification for CEA<br />
In order to improve the quality of output<br />
and competency of the personnel of CEA, the<br />
Quality Management System (QMS) as per<br />
ISO 9001:2000 was adopted by CEA. Though<br />
ISO certification for all the wings of CEA was<br />
obtained from BIS during February-March 2004,<br />
a single Composite Licence was obtained from<br />
BIS in 2007.<br />
On renewal audit by BIS, CEA obtained<br />
ISO 9001:2008 certification in February<br />
2010. As per the provisions of ISO 9001:2008<br />
prescribed in the Quality Manual, Monthly,<br />
Quarterly and Half Yearly Review Meetings<br />
are held in various divisions/wings at the level<br />
of Chief Engineers, Members and Chairperson<br />
(CEA). The BIS conducts Surveillance Audit<br />
once in a year for all the wings for continuance<br />
of ISO certification.<br />
